Today we’re delighted to put the spotlight on one of our trusted advisors, Albert Castellana, who has also been a critical force in Olyseum’s growth trajectory to date.
A former Council Member of NEM Foundation, Albert has enjoyed a distinguished career within the crypto and blockchain spheres, and currently serves as CEO at StakeHound — the world’s first liquid staking platform enabling the use of staked Proof-of-Stake tokens within Ethereum’s Decentralized Finance (DeFi) ecosystem. He is also a Founding Member at Center Blockchain de Catalunya, a seeder of the Badger DAO and the former Chief Product Officer at Radix DLT. Prior to joining Radix, Albert served as Vice Dean of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the Official Catalan Computer Science Society (COEINF).
We caught up with Albert to get his thoughts on Olyseum’s success so far.
Q) Hey Albert, very kind of you to take some time out of your busy schedule. Let’s start by discussing what drew you to Olyseum.
A: “Carlos is a dear friend of mine and has proven to have a great vision and the capacity to bring really strong talent together to make it happen. It isn’t everyday that you find yourself accompanied by a team of legendary football players, hackers and other sorts of celebrities to build a blockchain-based startup.
The goal is clear: to bring fans closer to the stars. The advent of NFTs as well as the possibility to reward users for their social actions seem to be just what’s needed to create a complete paradigm shift in the way celebrities interact with their followers.”
Q) In your opinion, what sets Olyseum apart as a platform?
A: “The strength and depth of Olyseum’s star roster speaks for itself, but recruitment is ongoing. You have stars from a wide range of verticals, sports, fashion, culinary arts, Moto, but this list will continue to expand.
The company is always on the look-out for like minded global icons who want to elevate the fan-star continuum, and create opportunities for authentic and memorable experiences.”
Q) What moments have defined Olyseum’s success so far?
A: “Olyseum has been able to achieve great things so far, from bringing together a large number of celebrities, to building and testing multiple iterations of the product to properly understand what users want to do with it. However, one of the things I’m most excited about is the xNFT concept that was introduced in the latest whitepaper.
This is an industry first that has the potential to have a great impact on fan engagement as well as brand awareness. This is being launched right at the point where NFTs are starting to consolidate their adoption in the mass market.”
